2005 marked the year of my first photo show. The show was entitled "La Lucha" (The Struggle). One night we were at a family
BBQ to celebrate the return of a friend who just returned from B.C after living there for the last few years. After dinner the
friend whipped out a bag of wrestling masks that he collected while in Mexico. We had a family portrait taken with all of us
wearing the masks for a good laugh. The resulting photo was creepy to say the least. The same friend was the owner of The Barber
Shop Gallery. Soon after the BBQ he sent me on a mission with the bag full of Mexican Wrestling masks. The idea was to approach
random strangers and a few friends and take photos of people doing everyday things (and not so everyday things), take a picture as
I normally might, but with the subjects wearing the masks in all of the shots. The project was extremely fun. The show had a
great turn out. Many of the original prints were sold, but there are some left as noted in the gallery. Enjoy!
